You know what, I think that IS what they mean by "stand-by."

The phone is completely off, standing by waiting, for me to turn it back on.

Still--I doubt it would last 300 hours completely turned off. I read somewhere that even when the Touch is powered off, the BatteryWaster thread still runs...

If your battery isn't lasting a long time and you have the 3100 I beleive. You need to reconfigure your backlight settings. A lot of people use full bright and you don't need it unless you are outside trying to view your phone in the sun. Set up your phone to go into standby mode after 1 minute of not in use. This will help!

Re: Anyones battery actualy last a full day?

Well, I may finally look into the extended battery. I was trying to avoid it because the reason I went with this phone is it's slimness. However, I have discovered Palringo which I have come to find is too awesome of an app to turn off in order to save juice.

I think JiveTalk is better, if you can use it.

Palringo seems to use a lot of resources--or uses a lot of data... either way, it sucks a lot of juice, even when you aren't actively chatting...

The OZ client uses almost no power and works great, even when you lose service--you just get your messages when your signal comes back.

Re: Anyones battery actualy last a full day?

So... Maybe it's just because my xv6900 is newer (less than two months), but my battery lasts about 48 hours on a charge. But then again, I'm not really a heavy user...

* IMAP e-mail - checking every 30 mins
* Moderate texting - 100 in and out per day
* Maybe 10 calls a day lasting 20 mins or less
* Twitter client runs 24/7 - PockeTwit is visually amazing
* Palringo only 20-30 mins a day, if at all
* Only about 20-30 mins of browsing per day, if at all (Opera mostly, although I discovered SkyFire yesterday)

It will be interesting to see how the battery performs as time goes on. It seems like the trend is for the battery to loose capacity quite quickly (a few months vs a few years)...

huh? that's extremely heavy usage...

With gmail checking every HOUR, about 20 texts, a total of about 5 minutes ot talk-time, or none, and zero IM usage, with no browsing... My battery will last from 9am to about 4pm.

If I actually use the phone the way it is intended, with bluetooth always on, and about 100 texts, I can make it about 4 hours--maybe. I have had several of these phones, and I know people with the 6700, and other phones like the Q9c and blackjack... they get terrible battery life too.

I think it has something to do with essentially having a mini-laptop running off of a tiny 1150mAh battery. My M1's was bigger--if I recall..

How in the hell does your battery last that long? Good god...
when I do that mine lasts about 12 hours... I text like 100 per day... Listen to some music, Get on AIM once and awhile, Use opera mini or skyfire(opera mini uses a lot less battery i have found) like 5 minutes of calling or 10, and i get like 12 hours

I had OZ, but it doesn't support gTalk/Jabber which is most widely used in my familiy/friends. Yahoo's IM is what we use at work.

I think I tried JiveTalk, but didn't like the interface. I'll probably re-visit it soon.
