Anyones battery actualy last a full day?

Just found this thread. My Touch is 10 months old. I still get 5-6 days on a charge. I use the phone occasionaly during the day, use programs moderately, occasional internet, including checking e-mail (not automatic), occasional weather. Still standard ROM. I keep the brightness on low unless outside, keep EVDO and bluetooth off unless using them, but don't turn off programs unless I think about it.I take the phone off the charger shortly after the light turns green, and I always let it "die", which is not really a problem because I'm usually at home or the office, have chargers at both locations, and it is neeeded so rarely in any event. I also try to do power intensive tasks like updating certain programs while charging, or installing new ones.

I have noticed some power killers. Being in a dead cell with no signal really drains the battery, I guess while connecting and disconnecting so often. Once, in a rural area with only occasional coverage even with roaming, it drained the battery in about 8 hours with no usage at all. Went to flight mode for the duration, with no problems and a full charge after 6 days. I also had a program that checked a website for new content every time I turned on the phone, and that cut me down to 2-3 days, so I turned off that feature and update only when charging and got my 6 days back.

I know I'm not a "power" user, but still I'm pretty thrilled with 6 days on a charge on a standard battery at 10 months.

I call BS on this.

There's no way you leave BT on all day, listening to music, talk several hours, send 50+ texts and still have plenty of life left at the end of the day.

You can take stock Touch's and do NOTHING with them all, day, but leave BT discoverable, and you will find it dead in 5 hours or less.

I've had 6 different Touch's, and a total of 9 OEM batteries. I've gone through at least 100 different ROMs as well, and I've NEVER had my phone last 8 hours.

-My EV-DO is always connected. Like most of us.
-I have one Exchange account that is set up as default, "as items arrive." (I only get about 10 emails a day on this account.)
-I have my gmail account check every 30 minutes.
-I turn off BT completely when I am not in the car.
-I have brightness at the lowest setting unless I am outside.

I get about 5 hours, with 10 minutes of talk, 15 texts, and about 5 minutes of Opera browsing.

I get about 8 hours, with no calls, no texts, and no internet usage.


I am REALLY skeptical of people that get a full day's use out of this phone.

Really? I use my own ROM.. Do some light internet browsing.. Maybe 10 minutes of calling depending.. like maybe 50 - 100 texts a day both in and out... No email checking.. I will set up push email sometimes though and it still lasts the day.. I dont use it at work for about 4 hours or so all together and it lasts the day...
