Touch jumping between 1x, EVDO, etc

I've been having a ton of problems lately with my Touch. Even though I'm in a strong EVDO area, my phone is constantly jumping between EVDO, 1x, 1x with the roaming triangle and sometimes no signal at all (just displays an x like the radio is off). Most of the time it stays stuck in 1x though and I can't figure out why. I just tried calling my phone from a landline and my phone doesn't even ring (sometimes it just goes right to voicemail). I have not updated to the newest ROM and don't want to but I do have the latest PRL. I've already spoken with Sprint several times about it and despite their best efforts, they are telling me to take my phone to a Sprint store so that they can run a diagnostics test. I have no problem doing that but I was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions that I can try before I bring the phone in. With it being 4th of July weekend, I'm not sure that I can get to a Sprint store in the next couple days and I'd like to try to get this thing working properly before next week. Is there anything that I can do to try to get this thing working properly other than taking it in to a store?

Im pretty sure from what I have read on here that the issue is the PRL. I am having the same problem. There is a fix around here somewhere in one of the threads. Can't remember where, but I think it is downgrading to the last PRL. Maybe a search will help you find it!

i had this same problem a while back.. called tech support.. she reset something on her end... and had me soft reset... and tada.. back in working order...

I ended up rolling my prl back to 60611 (I had 60613) and it seems to be ok so far. I'll keep an eye on it though to make sure I don't have the same problem with the old prl. Have there been reports of 60613 causing problems?

There was a post on the New Official Rom thread that provided a fix.. It was somewhere on one of the pages in the 60's. I tried it and it involved me going to a to 60612. It didn't help me, but it is kinda refreshing to know that other people are having the same problem. Now it is not something that I did to by phone.

Just wanted to post a quick update to let everyone know that my problem has disappeared since I went back to the PRL 60611. My phone was solidly in EVDO all weekend so it was definitely the 60613 PRL that was causing the problem. I'm not even going to bother trying 60612 since I'll probably be picking up an 800w within a week.

I knew I shouldn't have posted again - I think I jinxed myself. My problems came back today and they're as bad as ever. I'm off to a Sprint store tomorrow to get this POS replaced under warranty.

Interesting. I went ahead and put my PRL back to 60612, and it seems to have solved the problem. Of course, this was at the beach, where I actually had EVDO. (I dont have it at home) It isnt jumping btw 1X and roaming anymore though which is kinda nice.
