these are the posts that make me think people are over-rating their gps performance. Of course it should work whole driving... such low expectations... sheesh. Hopefully the Touch Pro comes out soon.

Re: What is the reason for terrible GPS performance on the Vogue?

I'm definitely not over-rating mine.....Every single time, I turn the GPS on using Baf's GPS Toggle, and start up my GPS program, and it's already locked on EVERY time. I took a 2 hr trip away from home and GPS worked perfect for me, got me there to the waterpark I went to, from there to the hotel, the next day...from the hotel to the mall, and from the mall back home 2 hrs away..no disconnects or anything so GPS is pretty much flawless for me

Mine works great on the new Sprint Rom. I couldn't get it to work for crap on any of the others.

Why would you need to use Baf's GPS Toggle?

Also, the problem is not losing GPS after it gets a lock, it's starting it in the first place.

Imagine if you were using your phone on battery, and you had to keep re-opening Live Search, Tom Tom, etc... So, opening it every dozen miles or so, and you might encounter what I speak of.

Yeah, GPS works fine once it gets going...

Re: What is the reason for terrible GPS performance on the Vogue?

Agreed, performance is somewhat choppy when getting it started, esp when indoors, inside of the car, in bad weather etc etc etc. I saw a helios ocean phone this weekend get an instant lock inside a 2 story building. That was pretty impressive. My touch was never quite that good and couldn't compete in that situation.

Re: What is the reason for terrible GPS performance on the Vogue?

Sounds like we just need to enable A-GPS like all other Sprint phones use..

Ahhh I see.........and I use GPS Toggle because MioMap won't pick up the GPS receiver unless I've turned it on. and I always let it run in the background when I need to access another program.......even if I close it......GPS locks quickly again......idk..maybe I'm just lucky

Re: What is the reason for terrible GPS performance on the Vogue?

Since I updated to the new radio, I've been having the problem some of you guys mentioned about the gps only works for a day or two then gets to the point where its unusably slow and wont lock any more. My phone was doing this recently and I think I found a fix for it, I just turned the Location setting off, then back on, had a lock on 5 sats within 30 seconds. This is in my bedroom, after not being able to get a lock at all for two days now, even while outside for 30 minutes.

Somebody else give this a shot and see what happens please.
