Re: Force Roam in new Sprint ROM
Folks- Very new here. Actually, my first post. However, I have to thank this Forum and its members for some great education. I have struggled for over a month with Sprint to get resolution to my 'Verizon' message stating that it can't authenticate my call. The Sprint Reps told me that it could not be fixed and that the problem was with my phone(Touch/Vogue). They wanted to get me into another phone.
I just couldn't believe it was the phone, so I looked around and found this site. Exceptional. Not only was I able to force my phone into roam (Why the F did they take that out anyways???) but I can now make calls while roaming (which I have not been able to do for over a month now). I believe the HRL Reload was the secret. I'm not sure what that is, but I asked a first level support person to do it last night. She had me on the phone for 15 secs and said 'It's done'. I asked her 'are you sure'? She said 'yep, it took'. I ended up going up to senior level support and they suggested a hard re set. So I backed it up, and did it. I reconfiged the phone, but I still had the same 'verizon message' issue. For s h i t s and giggles I called first level support one more time and asked for the 'HRL Reload'. This woman seemed to be into her job. She asked me to shut my phone down so she could move some files and such (which the other girl never asked me to do) and after about 3 or 4 mins, I booted back up and voila...I'm now roaming and making calls without the annoying Verizon authentication message. Lesson One: Never, ever believe first level support when they say it can't be fixed or tell you your phone is broken. I truly believe they just want to move your call on to reach some sort of call quota they have. Lesson Two: Always, always, always do some work online (this site for sure!) to see if anyone else has the same issue. Great site...thanks to all the contributors for the great insight! |
