Re: How to set up voice notes
there is a registry edit somewhere to hsow hte record bar.. if not a setting with menu intereface setting. I haven't used it in a while.. it's nice to use occassionally.. but i haven't found myself needing ot make a note lately.
update: so i just went through my menu. i'm using the new sprint rom and it has "voice recorder" built in. You should update your rom. Last edited by dannyppc6700; 07-02-2008 at 05:08 PM. |

Re: How to set up voice notes
I have that same rom and that program. I was wondering how to map it to a button so when I am driving down the road I can just hit the button and make a voice note and then put it back down. I can't seem to figure that out yet.

Re: How to set up voice notes
I am desperate on this one... I just got an HTC Touch Diamond (had Audiovox PPC6700) and am dumbfounded by this (no recording button). I use this feature between 15-30 x's per day and in my context am unable to take the long route: (Notes > Menu > View Recording Toolbar > Record).
I have been playing around with “hotvoice.exe” and “poutlook.exe notes” but so far to no avail (http://www.mwilber.com/). I am also looking at Resco's Audio Recorder (http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/audiorecorder/default.asp)for some shortcut to be linked to a long hold on the "answer" button or some other tweak. I just do not understand how HTC could leave out a feature that has been around forever and that is seemlessly linked with Outlook PIM. If I can not figure this out real soon, I will be switching phones. Any help would be of inestimable value. |

Re: How to set up voice notes
AE Button Plus might help you set it up the way you want. I think there is a free version.

Re: How to set up voice notes
Thank you; I will definitely give it a shot. I noticed there are some conflicts; hopefully I will not run in to any.

Re: How to set up voice notes
I use Vito Audio Notes Touch instead of the stock voice notes, which has nice finger friendly buttons and a clean interface. Plus, it records my voice notes in mp3 format, so I can transfer them to my pc to listen to them if I need to. And I just made a shortcut to the cube for it for quick access.
I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but that's the solution I use with the lack of hardware buttons. |
