I am desperate on this one... I just got an HTC Touch Diamond (had Audiovox PPC6700) and am dumbfounded by this (no recording button). I use this feature between 15-30 x's per day and in my context am unable to take the long route: (Notes > Menu > View Recording Toolbar > Record).
I have been playing around with “hotvoice.exe” and “poutlook.exe notes” but so far to no avail (
http://www.mwilber.com/). I am also looking at Resco's Audio Recorder (
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/audiorecorder/default.asp)for some shortcut to be linked to a long hold on the "answer" button or some other tweak.
I just do not understand how HTC could leave out a feature that has been around forever and that is seemlessly linked with Outlook PIM. If I can not figure this out real soon, I will be switching phones. Any help would be of inestimable value.
