Re: ROM cooking help please.

What problems are you having exactly, which screen. What method(s) are you using. ie What rom base / components, and which kitchen?

i am using JD's newest ROM and i am using the tools you provided in your adding and removing programs tutorial before that i was using OMJ's kitchen kit. i already use the kitchen for a 3.02 base but i liked JD's clean ROM i originally tryed vetvitos schwartz ROM as a base but it was throwing me errors and i asked and he informed me that i wasnt going to be able to rebuild because of the way he builds his ROMs

I'm not sure on JD's. But I do know that vetvito uses the "Cook your own rom" rom protection from xda-developers.
I just looked into JD's, he may be using the ppckitchen. These you can't recompile and flash. They strip out some needed components for the older kitchen, I really haven't figured this out.
What does work, is:
ftp://ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OMJ/R....Sprint.v2.exe
ftp://ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OMJ/R...nt.v2.java.exe
ftp://ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OMJ/R....Sprint.v3.exe

I have settled on the first one. I have taken this base and customized it to my needs. Here is my 6/8/08 version:

ftp://ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/rstoy...c/rstoyguy.nbh

I have made some changes to this over the last couple days. This was before I did the zzz_mysounds_oem tutorial. But that you can download and drop it in the OEM folder.
(I have 3 updated oem's on the ftp under vogue/users/rstoyguy/roms)

Seems chefs don't like it when you disassemble their work. I respect that,
but what they like is not always what I like. And I have no desire myself to make a rom and publish it here to have everyone on the planet ask me about trivial thngs over and over. lol. Start with the above and see what happens.

Don't forget to pay omage to OMJ....I think he's gotten a few grays hairs getting his rom this far! It is still my rom of choice to date...

thanks i was just wanting one semi diamond based but i think the only real thing i was gonna get outta it was some speed but i i think i have got some pretty good speed out odf what i have now. i havent really checked out OMJ's thread thanks for the links ill check them out. also when i was heavy in to trying to build off of vetvitos ROM i fielded any questions tha i could answer and 99% of them were trivial but if you ever feel like publishing omething i would be happy to try and monitor the thread and field any quetions i can. thank you very much for your help. if there is anything you need help on ask and if i dont have the answer then i will try and help ya find the answer. eventually i would like to learn how to port ROMs and all that advanced tech stuff. i may be young but i have much desire to learn this stuff. also right now i am trying to learn how to write programs in C++. ya gotta love summer break and transfering schools so i cant work out with the football team yet.

Going forward, I forsee most of these diamond chef roms getting tougher to further customize...
