I'm not sure on JD's. But I do know that vetvito uses the "Cook your own rom" rom protection from xda-developers.
I just looked into JD's, he may be using the ppckitchen. These you can't recompile and flash. They strip out some needed components for the older kitchen, I really haven't figured this out.
What does work, is:
ftp://ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OMJ/R....Sprint.v2.exe
ftp://ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OMJ/R...nt.v2.java.exe
ftp://ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OMJ/R....Sprint.v3.exe
I have settled on the first one. I have taken this base and customized it to my needs. Here is my 6/8/08 version:
ftp://ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/rstoy...c/rstoyguy.nbh
I have made some changes to this over the last couple days. This was before I did the zzz_mysounds_oem tutorial. But that you can download and drop it in the OEM folder.
(I have 3 updated oem's on the ftp under vogue/users/rstoyguy/roms)
Seems chefs don't like it when you disassemble their work. I respect that,
but what they like is not always what I like. And I have no desire myself to make a rom and publish it here to have everyone on the planet ask me about trivial thngs over and over. lol. Start with the above and see what happens.
Don't forget to pay omage to OMJ....I think he's gotten a few grays hairs getting his rom this far! It is still my rom of choice to date...
