For what its worth... I've had my HTC Touch about 6 months... I spoke with a sprint rep.. who transferred me to tech support.. then I called back to customer service and asked for a supervisor.. enough run-around, right? The Supervisor reviewed the sprintstore.sprint.com link that 'commits' the GPS update to being out by end of Q1. He agreed to let me send my Touch back for a full refund.. OR .. I could wait a few weeks and he would swap it free for a Samsung Instinct.
Problem is.. I really like the HTC Touch.. I don't want the non-windows mobile Instinct.. and I can't think of a better phone than the Touch (at this point in time, anyway). It would just be perfect with GPS and rev A. But I don't want to do the Alltel update again (yeah, tried it once.. completely locked my phone.. luckily sprint replaced it, no questions asked)
So why am I posting this? Just to share an experience.. in case any of you just want to return your Touch. Perhaps if enough of us do that, Sprint and/or HTC would start publisihing expectations about the GPS/RevA update. We are not powerless, here.
