I agree with the much faster. Like many other VZW users, however, I'd be very surprised to see any official release. I say that particularly as the xv6800 has not had a new release, though Sprint released its update to the Mogul some time ago.

Re: Verizon XV6900 woes...and questions

Verizon quotes EVDO Rev - 0 speeds at 400kbps-600kbps and REV-A at 500kbps-700kbps with bursts to 2MBPS. The biggest noticeable change will be in upload speeds which will be 5x faster that they are with Rev-0. I was told that Rev - A capabilities should be out in a couple months, and that more than likely a software upgrade will be needed to allow Rev A access

Just curious to see if this has happened yet?

Re: Verizon XV6900 woes...and questions

no, it hasn't. I've asked our data consultants about this, but I get no answers. I think all the focus is going to the Storm right now. They aren't even putting out any buzz about the Diamond or Pro. I get the feeling that we're about to be forgotten.

Re: Verizon XV6900 woes...and questions

http://evdomaps.com/

Verizon has rolled out Rev. A, though they have not upgraded the radio in the XV6900. (Check out the above link for the map of current EVDO Markets for Sprint, Verizon and Alltel... you can check and uncheck boxes to view all or just one carrier) I got tired of waiting several months ago and upgraded to the Sprint Radio, then the Bell Radio. I am currently using Whosdaman's Manilla ROM and, after altering the QPST, I get 5 second GPS locks inside and out. In addition, my data connection speed is much, much faster. DSLReports shows my speeds around 1.9 - 2.0 MB while I am tethering. If you want faster data speed (and your market is Rev. A) and/or you want GPS... do the upgrade.

I'm sorry but the person before you was wrong. VZW's network is already rev a but there are only a few phones that actually use it. They have mostly been using it for their broadband cards. I'm new to this forum also and just trying to learn how to do everything.

The one thing I have did this morning was use imcokemans unlocker which seemed to work fine so I put it in my pocket and headed to work. When I got to work I noticed that anytime it the screen turns off the phone freezes and I can't turn it back on. I can soft reset it and it will show the Verizon screen and then Windows Mobile will come up. If I keep the screen from blacking out it will be fine but once I don't use it for 60 secs it blacks out and freezes.

Maybe one of the more experienced guys know if this is only happening because I haven't updated the radio yet or if it is happening for another reason. If it is doing this because I haven't upgraded the radio yet can you tell me whether I should use the most up to date rom by sprint, alltel, or bell?
