Get MSL for Verizon phone..GETSPC does not work

The GETSpec program does not work on the Verizon Touch. I believe there was a posting before claiming that it does, but Sprint and Verizon use different algorithms to generate their ESN / MSL so even though the program will spit out a number that is six digits...this MSL does not work.

Does anyone know of another way to get the MSL code for a verizon Touch. I am unable to get it from the tech support at Verizon..tried 4 times..no luck

I have an HTC Titan Verizon and mine has 6 zeros for the MSL code. Maybe it's the same on yours.

I think you may be the only one who can help me. I am trying to setup my RevA settings after doing the ROM update to allow for GPS and RevA.

Everyone keeps telling me to get a MSL number from Verizon, but they dont know what it is and when I enter 000000 I get into the settings, but nothing there has anything to do with RevA

This is what I do

I enter ##778 then send...which then comes up to a menu asking if i want to edit or view

I select Edit and it asks me for a code..I entered 000000 and got into a bunch of settings, but nothing seems to be related to RevA...What did you do?

The MSL is just the unlock code ... you need it to reset the phone settings. Its usually done as part of a series of steps to get to the GPS promised land.

Why do you need the MSL - which for Verizon is 6 zeros / 000000?

I just went thru all this GetSPC jive etc as well ... u r right getSPC is a dead end for Vzw peeps.

Unless you know what your doing in those settings or someone is guiding you thru there ... just beware, your phone could end up with no internet access or the ability to make calls - like mine was - until I spent an hr on the phone with Vzw tech support getting a new A-Key and installing it, and having them troubleshoot my Internet access password and authorization parameters ... and doing some software upgrades over the air ... Loads of fun.

Unless it is a VZW prepay phone the msl is 000000. There is no setting in the epst ##778 menu for Rev A on VZW once you flash a 3xx Rev A radio and compatable rom it is enabled without you doing anything.

^^^ I agree. I'm on Sprint, but I set up my friends XV6900. Did not have to do anything in the ##Codes to get RevA or GPS working.
