HTC Touch Digitizer Replacment

Thanks, it seems the ribbon wire was too short because the bit that fits into the connector was broken in half so the bit with the wire exposed was missing. Used a blade to scape the top a little exposing the wires and fitted it back in, works 100% (after using stylus tap on four corners trick). To anyone buying replacement parts for your phone be prepared for weirdness if you (like me) buy the cheap stuff

hi all..may htc hd2 fell and has stopped responding to touch...altough there is no visible crack on the outer most glass(where we touch).. i mean the display is working finew ..i can see the lock scree and and can rcv call via hardware buttons..

there is howevr one crack visible on top of side i am not able to make out whether digistiser is broken or lcd screen is broken..how do i ascertain //i sent it to service station and they are asking a ransom to repair it..

is it possible that lcd screen has borken..but then it shuld reposnd to touch no..i can live with broken lcd screen temporraily..

I kinda doubt that the lcd screen is broken but I guess it's possible. The outer screen is the digitizer and that is the part that responds to screen taps. I'm guessing that is what is broken/damaged but it depends on how hard your device hit the floor when it fell. You could have damaged something inside and the only way to know is to open everything up, replace the digitizer, and inspect other components to see if something else is broken. I suggest you look for a guide like the one in this thread but for your device. Open it up and investigate. Couldn't hurt to try!

hi horndoctor,,actually it fell face down..if the outermost glass is digitiser, then i can ot see or touch feel any crack on it..its beneath that glas,,nyhow have ordered for digitiser from ebay..
