mRing does. you can set a text msg and voice call ringtone for each and every contact. along with the standard known/unknown/no caller id ones. it also has five different profiles. alsom quite easy to use.

I believe My Documents is the default folder. if not then just go back to myxertone, download another ringtone, but this time take two seconds to look and see where it says its going to save. you can even specify a particular folder...

Re: Text message ringtones?

I wouldn't use MP3s for any kind of alert, other than an actual ringtone...

MP3s are pretty rough on the CPU in our phone, and most of the time, it skips and crackles... even at 128kbps mono...

You can use 44khz mono 16-bit WAV files, and they play just fine, always...

Dang, I couldn't get this to work! Every time I clicked on the icon on the Today screen, it just caused the entire Today screen to refresh... Running the program from the program menu doesn't seem to do anything...

From my experience with my touch, that is an absurd statement.

That sucks. It really is a nifty little program. Plus i ended up with the best feature in the world (now mind you i installed pocketCM at the samt time as mRing so im not sure which is responsible) but i can stop my text message ringtones with any key press. I fell in love with my phone all over again...

if you do it on your computer, open up a folder like "My Documents". then Tools>Folder Options. Then go to view, and uncheck "Hide known file extensions." Now you should be able to change it. Then when you're done. You can go back and recheck that box

Lightbulb Re: Text message ringtones?

Okay...I also have the HTC Touch. I am trying to set a ringtone for my text messages. Thus far I have converted the mp3s to wave format. I have trimmed them all down to reasonable sizes and lengths...none over 30sec. I have placed one in \Windows...I don't see it in the drop for text notification sounds. I placed two others in \Windows\Media with all of the other sounds and such...still I don't have the option to set them as my ringtone for my text messages. Can anyone help?
