##786 resets your phone's ESN etc.. So you don't want to do that in your case. You do need to get the HDR settings right in ##778 security menu option. If you did what it suggests in this thread, then all you are missing is your username. On Sprint it's HEXESN@hcm.sprintpcs.com. Don't know what provider you're on, but on Sprint you also do not need the PPP settings, so if you have some and are on Sprint, you should clear them. Make sure you power your radio off and on so it tries to re-authenticate evdo. (airplane mode on / off) You can use ##DEBUG (##33284) to view HDR and see if AAA authenticated. Happy surfing.. Hope that helps, -CC P.S. I recommend using QPST to backup and restore the service programming. You still need to do these edits manually though.

Re: EVDO solution for Cloned 6800/6900!!!!!
Ok well I got that far (thanks to you). Here are some things I'm noticing...
On my 6700 under EPST the Security entries HDR AN AUTH Password and PPP Password both have this funky formatted string (the hex). In my 6900, after I did the edits in this post (and puti n the HEX from 6700 for AAA), the SAME funky formatted string is showing and is showing as AAA Shared Secret under M.IP Default Profile. However, in the Security entries the string isn't showing in HDR AN AUTH Password and PPP Password like it was on the 6700 (both fields are just blank, with my#@vzw3g.com as the usernames above both respective fields). In fact on the 6700 the AAA Shared Secret and 6900 AAA Shared Secret the values are completely different. The only thing consistent is that the AAA Shared Secret on the 6900 matches up with the HDR AN AUTH Password and PPP Password fields under Security on the 6700. Any clues? |

Re: EVDO solution for Cloned 6800/6900!!!!!
i could not get evdo working for the life of me...i missed 1 value and everything worked after words..look at those passwords closely considering they have these weird strings..
the phone automatically stores the AAA shared secret passcode into the directory of HDR An AUTH passwprd if the hex values are all matching..0-15 one other thing i noticed when i checked out both phones is on customer profile 5 in the AAA shared secret..the exact numbers from the hex values u find and copy in2 qxdm...where in the area.. for example under mip default..the AAA shared secret was @3"::'akjsw then in customer profile 1 the AAA shared secret was the exact same passcode as the one that was in the mogul then in customer profile 5 the same hex values u get 2 generate the funky passcode were in the AAA shared secret area..so i manually input those in there.. i dont know if it made a difference but i made sure everything was copied.. |

Re: EVDO solution for Cloned 6800/6900!!!!!
use the program qxdm to read from the original phone your getting these values from.
make sure every value from 0 down to 15 is included when u write them down. if you already wrote these values 2 the cloned phone.. read the cloned phone as well with the program and see if every value from 0 through value 15 is the exact same. in my trials and errors the program was not copying everything the same becuase i was missing one value.. |
