That post was confusing to me, so here's a simpler answer:
Cooked roms are almost always carrier specific, unless they SPECIFICALLY state they are not. If you're not sure about a ROM, it's 99% likely to be Sprint. You can avoid carrier customizations by pressing reset during "customizing in 3 seconds" prompt of most roms, but generally you are best advised to stick to generic roms or roms for your carrier if you don't know what you are doing. The kitchen does not flash radios at all, that's why it can't fix a radio problem. You CAN mess up your phone to the point you will need technical assitance by allowing another carrier's customization to load. As far as flashing radios go, all radios are carrier indpendent so far. It's the OS customizations step you have to worry about. Now, just because the radio is technically independent, if you're not unlocked you'll need one signed by your carrier.
