Re: internet connection
I don't at all mean to be rude, but what do you even have a Touch for if you don't have a data plan?
If you to go the Comm Manager, you can turn off your Data Connection.

Re: internet connection
you can delete the connection to your service provider (#777) and you can also tell your service provider not to allow data connections. There's other ways if you need to to once and a while get data through but to me these are the best ways to lock this out. The main thing is the dial out to #777. There's still other ways to get charged for data after that but it's not easy.

Re: internet connection
Hi, I have the same problem here.
I don't use/need internet service on my Touch, however the service provider won't block the internet because it's a data device, I may cancel my data plan however I will still be charged if I get conneted to internet, and the machine does connect to internet by mistakes of pressing wrong buttons or when walking with it in pocket. I am in Canada using HTC Touch thru Telus. in Comm Manager, data is now off but it automatically turns on when applications run. tried to dial #777 but says wrong number. Is there any other ways you can suggest? Thanks, |

Take "the machine" and drop it in the sink and walk away.... But no, seriously... Start, settings, connections, connections, manage existing, then general, and click 'delete settings'. Ta-Da |
