Re: internet connection

I don't at all mean to be rude, but what do you even have a Touch for if you don't have a data plan?

If you to go the Comm Manager, you can turn off your Data Connection.

Re: internet connection

you can delete the connection to your service provider (#777) and you can also tell your service provider not to allow data connections. There's other ways if you need to to once and a while get data through but to me these are the best ways to lock this out. The main thing is the dial out to #777. There's still other ways to get charged for data after that but it's not easy.

Re: internet connection

Hi, I have the same problem here.
I don't use/need internet service on my Touch, however the service provider won't block the internet because it's a data device, I may cancel my data plan however I will still be charged if I get conneted to internet, and the machine does connect to internet by mistakes of pressing wrong buttons or when walking with it in pocket.

I am in Canada using HTC Touch thru Telus.

in Comm Manager, data is now off but it automatically turns on when applications run.

tried to dial #777 but says wrong number.

Is there any other ways you can suggest?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Take "the machine" and drop it in the sink and walk away....

But no, seriously... Start, settings, connections, connections, manage existing, then general, and click 'delete settings'.

Re: internet connection

I gave "my machine" a litte BATH in the sink and blow dried it and it really worked!!

You are a genius!! (or I'm just a noobie.)

Anyways, Thanks a lot.

Now I don't have to worry for paying $30 my mistake of a second!!

Stupid TELUS I hate you!!

Actually, the phone will recreate these connection settings automatically the next time it tries to access the internet.
