Longest Tether session?
 

Ok so i have been using my Touch for internet on my MacBook. I was just wondering...

Whats the longest you have had your touch tethered to your computer?
Did you have any problems with the phone overheating?

You shouldn't ever have a problem, I have a couple of phones and so when I stay at my girlfriend's house for the weekend I just leave my laptop tethered the whole weekend to my touch (Usually downloading off the usenet at full speed lol)

With a Touch you could stay tethered forever. You're not going to run into any problems on the hardware side. Your carrier might not appreciate it though.

Ok, oh and i forgot to mention im using the lbuetooth pan, that doesnt make a diff does it?

No. If you were using WiFi (not that the Touch can) you would notice a little extra heat. Even that hasn't been an issue for me on my Mogul though. You will be discharging your battery more quickly/frequently so you can expect a somewhat diminished battery lifespan, but again, nothing to be overly concerned about.

If you are tethering using USB, won't your phone be charging at the same time, so will you really drain your battery??

Until the USB source runs out of power, you are right it really should not drain with tethered with USB. I've done that before and charged the touch while tethering via usb.

Yes, I need to know about BT. I have a Mac and so far BT is the only free way i have found to use my touch as a modem. and not even be charged by sprint...

I've also used USBModem by Mobile Stream for USB tethering in OSX. If you need to keep you're device charged, you might want to check it out.
