But yeah downloading a torrent is gonna keep all the radios maxed and on 100% duty cycle. that will probably make it a bit warm. I know most of my phones are physically warm (anything that feels WARM to your sense of touch is over 98') and almost hot after a really long conversation. Especially the smaller phones (less material to act as a heat sink)

But if all it got was 100' I would not be too concerned. An idea is to leave it on its face and remove the battery cover. It will cool better and make sure the screen backlight is OFF and the screen as well if possible (less E usage less heat build up)

Torrents?? Over EVDO and sprint does not mess with you! WOW :-)

As for phones not overheating. How many phones have you had? every single phone I have ever owned has gotten physically warm to very nearly HOT (some of them downright hot as in well over 120') after extended usage.

Far less when used with headset (no "face" to insulate and provide heat) but yeah my sanyo 6200 damn that bugger got hot enough to scorch me a little after a 30 minute conversation :-) Future phones same thing to differing degrees.

Lol i download all the time while I tether and no bills here either

Re: nerys I already do all that you said. I just make sure to keep an eye on it. the new S2U2 with the battery is a great help.

Do you use an exchange server, or other push service? If so, try disabling it. Made a huge difference for me using WMWifiRouter (zero disconnects since turning off exchange sync).

For WMWifiRouter at least, it is a known issue (found it the other day browsing the FAQs at WMWifiRouter.com). I'm not sure if it is interfering with ICS or WMWifiRouter itself, but it made a big difference by disabling it. Worth a shot....even if you are on a POS Touch ;)

Using my cracked PDAnet (USB tether), I've tethered for up to 36 hrs or so straight downloading the whole time. I use my tethered touch as my primary internet, so I'm tethering a few hours a day minimum. Haven't had any issues with sprint yet, knock on wood...

Wait ?? You guys are tethering with newer phones ?? How does that work? I thought only the 6700 could legitimately do that?

Are you talking specifically about Leopard? If so, I thought you couldn't do it via USB in Leopard yet?
