Re: Graphic driver update from HTC soon????

so wut exactly will be diffrent if these drivers do get released... im guessing video, maybe faster/smoother scroll response without the flickering, when i press a button it will change to the "highlighted/pressed" picture of the button faster instead of the .5 sec delay i get at times...

anything esle people notice on there touches that mayb/hopefully will be fixed with new graphic drivers?

Guess people want their SNES emulators to run a little more smoothly???

I think getting some updated drivers would be fantastic... But I too wonder how it is really going to improve my Touch experience?!?!

For starters video performance will be vastly improved... Right now the only way to watch a video is with the new coreplayer. Out side of that video is terrible...

I only see one person wanting something for nothing...... and you're calling HTC greedy? hmmmmm
1. Very true, HTC never promised the graphic acceleration drivers...which is not a problem.
2. Actually I was expecting to get a device that would be able play videos as good or better than my old Axim X5 or PPC 6700. Apparently my expectations were a little too high.
3. Actually I would notice. Trying to watch a video is just not worth it.
4. As a consumer, is it a little too much to ask for support for current products as well?
5. Since the video/media performance isn't as good as my old 6700, then I would think the device is crippled in some way.

Re: Graphic driver update from HTC soon????

one thing no one has mentioned is that if we get drivers we might be able to run a qvga version of the diamond interface. which would be awesome.

Correct me if im wrong, but in the computer world, generic video drivers force the cpu to draw the screen, which in tern needlessly slows the cpu, which in tern needlessly slows the graphics. My laptop with a 2 ghz t7250 core 2 duo and 8400m graphics card feels like a 486 without drivers, even during regular file browsing/ect. where after the proper drivers are installed the computer feels exponentially faster, more to what the cpu/graphics card should.

The concept of "video is just for gamers" is just plain wrong, at least in the computer world.

Welp I'm a gamer so I'm good with that.

That and it's for anyone who likes faster computers.

*grin*

I'm thinking that proper video acceleration will make finger scrolling a ton smoother. I personally hate how choppy scrolling can be on websites and the like.

Re: Graphic driver update from HTC soon????

Question to the gurus. Is the porting of the driver to other devices similar to the kasier even possible. (I'm talking about the touch, i beilive the hardware is identical except the wifi)
