Re: Screen Broke! What is this? (Pic)
A friend of mine had a similar problem with his screen though slightly different, his screen got the little dime size black spot then about 2 days later it looked as if the screen was cracked and the liqiud crystals seeped out over the screen oddly enough a week later his screen just totally froze on the home screen but didnt look cracked which was the wierd part but was totally non-op. I my screen now has the dime size shade in the middle and its only about 3 months old.

Re: Screen Broke! What is this? (Pic)
i'm gonna go ahead and jump in on this even though we're on page 7 of such a small problem... hahahahaha...
mine has been like that for months now... if i'm not mistaken, i'm pretty sure it might be the screen protector the phone comes with... if not, it could be because of normal wear... maybe because of heat the phone puts off... localized where the "color crystals" are... just my .02 |

Re: Screen Broke! What is this? (Pic)
I've had it happen to the 4 Touches I've been through... It never effected the use of the touchscreen... And the Tech department here is Columbus, GA is pure trash so I just called the 800# & complained about the volume slider & they replaced my phone... I use a holster so my phone is never 'squashed' but it had been dropped but the 'film' look happened random... good luck

Re: Screen Broke! What is this? (Pic)
I spoke with HTC about this issue in the past, and someone on the first page of this thread is correct. It IS infact the digitizer pulling slightly away from the screen itself, giving a cloudy effect on the screen. Almost like when you push down on any LCD screen with your finger, how it goes all weird. Same deal here. If you're phone is under warranty, have it replaced. Mine did that, and replacing it through Telus was a non-issue. They ordered me a new phone and called me when it was ready to pick up.

Re: Screen Broke! What is this? (Pic)
I've had this problem for awhile with my xv6900 but snice I only noticed it when the screen was black, I lived with it. Then the screen overlay started peeliong away and I had enough. I'm happy to say I just got back from the Verizon store where they gave it a quick once over, determined there was no water or physical damage and they are shipping me a new one via 2 day FedEx. I won't have to give up my phone until the new one arrives. As a side bonus I also had the cracked case issue which was purely cosmetic so I lived with that as well. I still expect the case to crack again since it seems all the white ones do but at least for a few weeks I'll have a prisine phone.
