Preparing for Upgrade

I wonder if someone can help me with info for reverting a Bell Touch back to the original Bell Radio and Rom,

I have read lots of posts and I know this is the post to get me up and running with the best rom for this phone(from what i have read)
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24979

But I have found little posts on files I would need to revert back.

NOTE: I have a windows cd that come with the phone, Does anyone know if everything I need is on this disc?

Re: Preparing for Upgrade

I thought all you needed to do was to get the original Bell Rom executable from the utstarcom website and run it.

As far as I know, that should relock your phone (remove the coke's unlocker 0.40 or 2.31) and put the old bell WM 6.0 and radio 1.59a back on there.

I could be wrong though...

Re: Preparing for Upgrade

I think you need to follow similar procedure to putting on 3.35 Radio (i.e. put old 0.40 Unlocker on).

But instead of using RUU for 3.35 Radio.

Run the Original ROM .EXE

But I'm not an expert, I'm sure there are threads on it.

Not sure if running original .EXE removes unlocker. But there is a procedure for that too (I think there are some links in iCokemans signature).

Re: Preparing for Upgrade

Ok I found this link that is pretty self explaining, and there is a link to the bell rom and other files that are needed, I downloaded and have them ready should i need them as well as a copy of the instructions, so I guess I will soon be upgrading my phone.

Re: Preparing for Upgrade

depending on what boot loader you have loaded.. you might need to load an unloacker and change the boot loader .. Then it is just a mater of reloading the bell stock rom... I did this last night and all went well !!!

1. backup all contacts/data/etc..
2. ensure your device is connected to your pc via activesync.
3. run imcokeman 's vogue unlocker and follow ALL instructions in the command prompt exactly .
4. once you have booted back up into wm and are connected to activesync again (dont worry about setting up your device again because you're just going to flash it again and erase all that in a second anyway)
(power-camera reset) press and hold both the camera button and the power button (top), and poke the stylus into the reset hole. you should then be presented with the tricolor screen and near the top you should see something like coke 0.4.0 ( if you do not see the coke 0.4.0, then dont bother trying to flash your device. if it does not say coke 0.4.0, the device is not unlocked, and you need to start at step 3 again).

5 if you have the 0.4.0 boot loader just flash the phone with the original bell rom and all should be well..

I started with the 2.3.1 bootloader and that ended up being 0.4.0 after vogue flash which allows you to run the bell rom which will reloack phone and leave it in stock form.....

HTH ... it's how i got mine back to stock..
