Thanks DOOH - I just did it and that doesn't seem to resolve the issue- FYI I get 3-4 bars in my apartment. It seems to be a roll of the dice if it is going to work right away or not. Last edited by boe; 04-30-2008 at 05:14 PM. |

Funny,
I was around culver city yesterday for a brazilian bbq, using GPS on the freeway and noticed that. I thought I was on a dead and it was roaming... Since I could get a lock on the GPS I soft reset the phone and that's when I got that for a few minutes... Quote:

Yep - seems like a roll of the dice (sometimes I get Sprint right away -sometimes I'm stuck with digital roaming and a useless cell phone)- not sure if it is the radio version or the newest PRL isn't set properly for Culver City. Glad I mentioned the location - perhaps people in the other part of the country aren't experiencing it with this beta.

OK - I seem to live in a nexus where this occurs a lot. I have found a work around that works far more reliably than resetting my phone - 1 out of 5 seems to get me to Sprint instead of digital roaming. Go to comm manager - disable just the phone part and re-enable it - 1 out of 2 seems to get it working.

Re: Anyone else getting "digital roaming" when booting with the new Rev A?
I'd suggest using Derek Jenny's v19 or OMJ's roms. They're both Sprint specific. Well OMJ has a sprint version and a verizon version. But with Derek's or OMJ's sprint roms in the phone settings under roaming you have the original sprint options not the ones from the alltel rom. Of course these options didn't show up for me until after I did a hard reset after installing the rom, but they're there. I didn't keep JD's rom on long enough to see if it did this to me.
BTW my personal preference between the two roms is Derek's. It's the closest to the original sprint rom while still being 6.1 and not having alot of extra stuff installed. I've just never been a fan of quick menu. |
