Re: Best GPS Apps

How is iGuidance running on the Touch? I tried it out this morning on my Mogul and it's too slow for my liking. Looking forward to flashing a stable and perfect GPS rom to my Touch in the near future and curious if it's running properly on it.

Thanks!

Re: Best GPS Apps

@ deegimius....yes I have the $30 powervision plan with unlimited navigation. I spoke with a sprint representative, and as long as you have the sprint navigation software, and NOT TeleNav HTC Touch vogue software, it should be covered in your plan. You can download it from the file above. Hope that helps.

i'm using iguidance 4 with the touch and build in gps, it works excellent but only using gpsgate 2.5 or 2.6 (i have full version 2.5) to create a virtual port to com 2. otherwise u will have a problem with iguidance because it will not refresh your location. also try using holux gps viewer to get a fix on the satellites. the built in gps works just has good as my external BT gps.

Ok, that's what I thought.
I'm not paying those &$%*@##s an extra $15/month just for Sprint Nav.
TomTom6 works great and it's free!
I tried Nav4All and it is quirky and the audio is garbled and distorted.
Thanks for letting me know.

just checking- sprint navigation is NOT covered with sprint's SERO plan correct? I do not think it is, but has anyone took the time to try it out?

I don't think so. Although you could experiment with removing portions of the data on the chip... I haven't done this, but all in all it only takes up 800gb of data. If you like it, and I do, it's worth shelling out $30 for a 4 or 8gb card.

With the version of TomTom I tried I could select specific maps, but that was an older version, they might have done away with that feature.

Re: Best GPS Apps

I swear, I am going to stop talking about this.. LOL. I cannot stress enough why people DO NOT just get the "BEST" GPS program for a cell phone, and that is "TELENAV"
It is by far the "BEST!!!" GPS program out there. Even compared to a BMW 550 which I drive, the navigation on my phone (TELENAV) blows BMW's navigation AWAY!!
Simply put, there is not one program better than Telenav. NOTHING!! Not even non cellphone versions beat it.
