New Slingplayer 1.6 works correctly

Sling Media released an update to their mobile Slingplayer which includes a new GDI rendering option. That seems to have fixed the problem with Direct Draw causing the video to stutter, pause and split the screen image. Finally, it's actually usable on the Touch in full screen mode!

Nice. Too bad we are having to rewrite software instead of having a device that functions well to begin with. Oh well, still good news!

Do you know if it makes a differents on the Mogul?

anyone else confirm that the update improves the video quality. I havent used my sling in months bc it was unwatchable on my mogul or touch. (Apache was awesome)

The Mogul has the same problem so I'd imagine it has the same effect. I don't own a Mogul, however, so download it and see for yourself.

I havent brought it, just thinking about it buying, but ive been reading bad things about the picture on the mogul, so if somebody that has a mogul, that tested the new slingplayer 1.6, please provide the results, thanks

I haven't tested 1.6 yet, but I never really had any big issues with 1.5 either. Definetly nothing that would keep me from using it. There is a free 30 day trial, so you can try it out for yourself though.

Working nicely here now.... I don't know if it beats the Orb quality though, but Slingbox beats Orb by overall usefullness...

Agreed, the picture looks a little better with Orb, but that's the one and only way in which Orb excels, IMO.

Does anyone have access to the cab? The direct download isn't working for me and I wont be near my computer to activesync for a few days. If someone can upload the cab, I would be grateful.
