Re: New Slingplayer 1.6 works correctly

***Removed by mindfrost82*** --Anything that discusses how to get around registrations or trial versions is breaking the rules--

If this update fixes the choppiness of the previous version then I will finally cough up the 20bucks for it.

Follow this link http://downloads.slingmedia.com/get/spm-ppc-us.html (click the "Phones" tab) and you'll notice a boat load of HTC phones are supported...interesting footnote on that page too.

"A strong 3G or WiFi connection and the latest device software (ROM) are highly recommended. When you watch video with fast action or view videos in full screen mode, performance may vary on this device."

I just tried 1.6 on my Mogul...and the video was still stuttering in full screen. Probably due to weak data signal. There's a new option in the program in the Advanced section called "Use GDI Rendering"...that's probably the setting that makes the difference. It is enabled by default.

Re: New Slingplayer 1.6 works correctly

I installed the update and for the most part the video playback is smoother. I will have to try again tomorrow because I don't get great reception in my neighborhood.

Running smooth here as well, drastic improvement in quality!

Thanks to Sling Media for taking the initiative and working around HTCs errors!

Definitely a lot smoother...It was always smooth in portrait mode but useless in landscape but now, they've fixed it.

Re: New Slingplayer 1.6 works correctly

this "up-grade" has decreased my performance on my sprint touch. now my fps does not move past the 15-17 range, before i averaged in the upper 20's to 30. i must admit i have not had time to really run and test all the settings, but i did let it run un interrupted for an hour with no increase in fps.The upload speed does slowly rise to the 400's range, close to what i was averaging on the previous build,if it does not improve after adjusting certain settings i will convert back to the previous build. as a side note when i was using my slingbox it informed me of the upgrade, but would not let me download over the air stating that this upgrade was not for my device.
