Re: Best GPS Software for the Dollar?
I personally like TomTom 6 it runs just like the stand alone TomTom products. I used it even before I had GPS built-into the phone with a puck.

Re: Best GPS Software for the Dollar?
Live Search and Google maps aren't very Canada friendly either. Plus you need to have a data connection, I think. I saw somewhere info about downloading the maps to your device but I could be wrong.
iGuidance isn't too bad, got it free with a BT Puck, but TomTom is probably 1 of the best. There is 1 that calls out street names too. Don't know which one though. Last edited by Videonut; 04-27-2008 at 06:23 PM. |

Re: Best GPS Software for the Dollar?
iGuidance 4 has:
Text to speech (announces street name in voice); Extended POI listings (6 millions); Pre-generated map file for entire N. America (1.3GB) which can be stored on your storage card. I haven't upgraded to version 4 yet but I have found IG v2.3 very good at getting you where you want to go. I have read that OnCourse Navigator is good too, but no TTS and you have to use their microSD card - you cannot transfer the map data. |
