Re: Vogue/Touch Kitchen (GPS & No GPS versions)
Anyone notice a huge difference in battery use depending on what ingredients you chose?
I am not sure, but last night I whipped up selections in the kitchen to check out the results. While running battery status; I notice that with the backlight on 2 above half and me messing around with the unit I was getting under 127mA and depending what I used it ran between 98 and 87mA.. I left the phone alone for a bit, came back to wake it, and notice the last meter reading with backlight dimmed was posting usage of only sipping 36mA.. I didn't think much of it, thought those were normal readings, until this afternoon I threw in a set of different ingredients, most notably most of the nue* selections and wKtask instead of the HTC.. Later on I notice that the vistahide battery bar showed 25% gone.. Humm.. so I look at the battery status meter and see it's using up juice at 280-334 mA, while dropping under 200mA with backlight dimmed and as last reading 127mA after hitting the power button waking the unit up.. I am gonna have to check further details, I may have been transitioning between 3.35 and 3.37 radios, but I am not 100% sure. The tests aren't scientific nor perfect, the phone has been basically in the same spot, but from time to time slight difference makes a difference between 3-4 bars, so I'm gonna have to watch it more.. Just weird and wondered if anyone else notice this.. thanks, -CC P.S. What are some of the "known" battery drainers? @ $4 / gal of gas and not being able to do much about it, I can atleast save some energy on my phone :P

Thanks for trying jim. None of your links is a fully implemented keyboard. They work to some extent, but for example if you click the Live Search on the today screen you still get the full qwerty keyboard. The files might be fine but there probably is a registry entry or 2 that is missing.

Re: Vogue/Touch Kitchen (GPS & No GPS versions)
Just yesterday I started trying custom ROM's for my XV6900. Of course I had to have GPS, so I went whole hog ... new radio and everything. There were a couple of scary moments, but I managed to perservere though it all.
I have noticed a few issues ... The "default" MMS server is not accepting my messages, and I am not able to add info pertaining to the Verizon server - the "Add" button is "grayed" out. Power useage seems way over what the Verizon Stock ROM. I can go from full charge to less than 90% in just a half hour of pecking around the unit - no calls and idle data connection. I cooked the Flash Video bundle to the ROM, but You Tube is saying I need a newer version of Flash. I've haven't looked at the GPS yet, so those comments can wait till later. It is great to see smooth playback of large video files in Windows Media Player and auto landscape mode just like the Verizon stock version. BTW, just in case, does anyone have the original radio? I have a stock ROM that was posted, but it doesn't include the radio and, of course, doesn't allow the device to boot with the newer radio. If I can get MMS working and figure out the power drain issue, my fourth donation to PPC Geeks will be on it's way! |

![]() i do not believe anyone currently has a stock verizon radio right now, i have seen it dicsussed and requested everytime...but no one has dumped it before flashing yet so...not a lot of opportunity to go back if you did for some reason want to. not too sure about the MMS thing or the power drain issue...have you done the reg battery hacks? and did you previously have your data connected? that is known to decresase power rapidly...
