Alltel 3.04.671.2 Issues/Observations

As usual, the thread regarding the new release has become swamped with hundreds and hundreds of comments, making it hard to discuss any issues people might be having with the new 3.xxx series Vogue ROM. I thought this might be a good place to talk about what is working better, what is not working, etc.

One issue I'm wondering about is storage card stability. It is still early, but has anyone on the Alltel ROM had corruption issues yet?

Re: Alltel 3.04.671.2 Issues/Observations

I have not and been running it now for 7 hours. I also have driven around all morning and GPS is still working great with Rev A as well. I am getting ready to load some of my favorite programs to the alltel ROM and see how they do. I have read that video is faster and not choppy.

EDIT: I should also mention I have moved files back and forth from card and loaded programs from card. Size is 4GB

Oh boy. This is going to be another one of those "who has not had problems" threads which always ends with "until today"

Re: Alltel 3.04.671.2 Issues/Observations

Has anyone notices strange battery/charging behavior with the new Alltel rom?

Everything seems to be fine until I plug the phone in, and then eventhough it shows as charging, the battery level just keeps dropping very rapidly. I can unplug/replug/reset, and sometimes the level goes up, but most of the time it drops.

Looks like maybe there's a charge level reporting issue in this rom? Very strange...

Never had any issues with my storage card stability, however no issues with this rom either. I'm using a 4 gig sandisk card... and technically its JD's OS but with all the new stuff (radio, gps) from alltel.. so I'm not sure what you'd consider it.

NO issues with the battery charging meter, again this is after installing Alltel, no customizations, then flashing to JD's latest test rom (basically os only with some gps drivers), found here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...442#post260442

I'm glad someone thought to realize that its hard to click on the battery meter, signal, sound part of the phone if you're not using a stylist.. that bubble is long over due.

Re: Alltel 3.04.671.2 Issues/Observations

For me it takes a while to actually get on the network. It searches for a while and then finally connects to Spring PCS. And GPS doesn't seem to be working either. Could be it's just not locking to satellites but google maps justs says it's connected to zero satellites.

Not really having any problems with the radio, acctually its a little better in fringe areas. The only thing I miss is that the option to force the phone into roaming only is gone.

Re: Alltel 3.04.671.2 Issues/Observations

I had the touchscreen lockup on me once. The phone was responsive (I could use the dpad/buttons), but the touchscreen wouldn't accept feedback...
