Re: HTC SOaKED! NEED HELP
I know this sounds stupid but I read on a Blackberry site to leave it overnight in rice. The guy said that rice has the ability to suck out moisture. It worked for the other guy who tried it. Who knows..

Re: HTC SOaKED! NEED HELP
We've done the pop the battery and used just plain rubbing alcohol to save a few laptops from the rubbish heap.
Usually everything is fine after they dry out and you wipe everything down with alcohol.

Regular alcohol leaves an oily residue which may cause corrosion and/or bad contact..

Re: HTC SOaKED! NEED HELP
Bring some of that Thug money to my store and I'll sell ya a new one! You will most likely loose one thing after another until it is dead. Most phones that I have seen that have gotten wet die within the week...Corrosion slowly eats away at the electronics inside.

Re: HTC SOaKED! NEED HELP
Dude it's dead. It just doesn't know it yet. Any water on the PCB is going to cause problems in the future as the corrosion sets in. As an electronics tech I had to screen literally thousands of amps keyboards and the like after hurricane Rita a few years back and had to declare all unfixable as repairs would be in vain. If you have insurance I'd suggest backing up and replacing. Just tell them the speaker went out.
