Re: I just had a though of why the Delay on Rev-A

Do You guys really find a difference between Rev A and Rev 0. I have the touch (rev 0)
and a Q9 (rev A) and found my touch faster on the web at many different spots.

Re: I just had a though of why the Delay on Rev-A

I really wanted the Mogul but got the Touch because I cant stand the lack of memory on a PC. Since Windows Mobile is based on WinCE/Win32 API I know I would get the same exact experience.

True. i totally agree with you. I'm just saying on behalf of the general population and those oh-so-aggravating remarks i.e. "oh, is that an iphone?"

Agreed. I work in the cell phone industry and everybody is always asking me... "Hey is that an iPhone?"

The answer is always very simple... "No, it is not the iPhone, it is the Touch from Sprint."

I'm getting tired of it too but I think it is due to the fact that the general population of this country is not only fat and lazy but stupid too and their first impression when they see a touch screen cell phone is "Hey cool iPhone..."

Personally today at work I had 3 people ask me this same question and every time I had to explain WHY it is not an iPhone. Most people are in shock that someone other than Apple is making touch screen cell phones only to find out that HTC has been doing it a lot longer than Apple...

Yes.

Interestingly, although the speed tests show little difference on the downstream (the biggest change was on the up side which is crucial for applications like VoIP), there is a significant difference in latency and jitter which make video playback through Orb a much better experience under Rev A.

Re: I just had a though of why the Delay on Rev-A

I read an article stating that Sprint will be upgrading the Mogul and the Touch to WM6.1 officially this summer. They probably don't want to do 2 updates for the Tough and just knock out the REV A, GPS, and 6.1 update in one shot.

Re: I just had a though of why the Delay on Rev-A

I think OP read too much into it. As a professional IT person involve with software releases in the last 10 years, my guess is that it all boiled down to the fact that they have finalized version of the Mogul firmware as baseline first, so they start working on next release for it first, that's all there is to it.

As a software professional myself that started out on the PDP-8 (but you're probably too young to even know what that is) I could be just as easily right. We have made release date choices based on how much our support team can handle at one time. It's ALWAYS better to keep a customer crying for more than crying about lack of support or bugs.
