Not to offend, but it makes no sense at all. Have a good one.

Re: I just had a though of why the Delay on Rev-A

If the phones are the exact same, then they have the code more or less done.

So why not release it?

It has nothing to do with release dates.

I'm saying they just don't have the band width to support than many folks right now.

It's just a guess.

The one thing Sprint is not lacking right now is bandwidth...

And then that "true geek-o-holic" realizes that even though his new Touch has a dual core 400mhz processor, it is still slower than his old PPC-6700 so he switches back to that.

Which is what I did. Extra RAM and bigger storage space means nothing when the phone freezes while performing a few tasks at the same time such as receiving a text while playing music and unlocking your slide2unlock at the same time. This has happened to me many times with every ROM I have tried.

That's what i did too.

but also, as a iphone competitor, there's no reason for rev a and gps because the iphone doesn't have it either. might as well hold out till later, for a second wind of sales with the same phone...

I hate to even quote this guy again but some things need to be clear: A true geek-a-holic actually takes the time to make his ppc more efficient so that you can run: Navizon, Google Maps, S2P .38, Opera Mobile (3 tabs) and Outlook at the same time( which is what I had to do yesterday). I know that may not seem like much to you Touchies but ask yourself "Do I really need all those apps open at the same time?". Proli not I did it to prove a point you can run everything you NEED with no problems.

What about the Touch makes it an iphone competitor? lack of buttons? That seems to be about it. You can do so much more with the Touch (I can't belive I'm sayin this). So please stop comparing the two.

Re: I just had a though of why the Delay on Rev-A

I went from the Mogul to the Touch - initially. Now I switch off depending on my needs.

Although the Touch is great around home, when I travel for business, I end up taking the Mogul. Here's why:

1. When you need RELIABLE access to files/data/documentation on a sd card, the Touch fails miserably
2. Much easier to find your way around unfamiliar town when you don't have to remember to bring your external bt gps
3. Although bt ics is nice, it's nice to be able to set up a wifi hot-spot for multiple users
4. If you spend a significant amount of time email/sms, can't beat a qwerty kbd and threaded sms from wm 6.1
5. Rev A
6. Rev A

Hopefully, when the update comes out for the Touch, it will eliminate my need for the Mogul, and I'll be able to dump it on eBay. Until then, by itself, it's just not "geeky" enough for me!

I haven't had any SD card reliablity problems, though I do understand that some people have.

I have a pretty nice TomTom navigation GPS. I am not sure I will stop using it even when the GPS update comes out, but I can't say that for certain

Like hell I want someone using my bandwidth, they can get their own damn phone.

No contest, if you are a heavy texter. If you are not, TouchPal is a great on screen keyboard. Especially if you have the pro 2.0 version that does the miskey-correction.

I wish. My town is still stuck on 1X. I would kill for regular EVDO-Rev0 here.

All that said, where are you people getting this geekohol at?
