Just flashed to JD's 6.1... question about reception...

Seriously guys... JD's ROM has saved my life... I don't have to use a headset in my apt anymore... I can finally lie in bed, toss and turn, and the call won't drop...

It's fantastic... True the ROM has hung on me a few times... but I'm not missing any calls cos of it... it's usually in the middle of a call...

I know there was an issue with the phone going to sleep, but I checked the registry setting and it's disabled. Don't know what could be causing it.

I just loaded Ghetto's latest version and the bars do seem to be different. Its not even the same type of bars in the other ROMs, they look thicker. I get more bars with his ROM but when checking the RSSI reading the signal stregnth is actually about the same as it was with the other ROMs.

I've never had a problem with dropped calls or low service with this phone in my area...with any ROM.

Thanks for trying it! I guess its because the bars are different.. I'll be using this one for a while as its works well.,

I'm not sure what he did to make it different, but it definitely is. I think his bars are a little more accurate for reception compared to other ROMs and the stock ROM. I don't really see the fluctuation I've had in the past (which I know is just a bars thing and not a true signal thing).

I just can't speak for the dropped calls issue since I've only dropped about 2 calls since owning the Touch.
