Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!

Jim,

Thank you for the step by step instructions, got it going. Now with the app that are in a separate link, are those needed or are they built in?

Thanks again

To sync contacts, you can use a service called funambol until it gets figured how to sync from your google account.

http://my.funambol.com/

goto the website and signup. You can sync to your account my downloading the WinMo client or if you use outlook on your computer, you can get the outlook plugin.

Then all you need to do is download the opensource android funambol client and it'll sync to your android.
thanks for sharing here. += 1 for this.

Hey ya no problem. Updated OP accordingly.

Uh well some are built in my dzo, packages such as settings, email, etc....

Others that you want, just download them (saving them as .apk files), store them in a folder called AndroidApps on your sd, then when you boot up android it will read from that folder and install them.

Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!

hey guys who are having problems, remember to have gps completely inactive/disabled before booting into android.

you also need to be updated to the latest radio for all of this to work.

Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!

Android boots fine with my Sandisk 6GB on my Sprint Touch. I've tried the 10/25 and 10/28 versions so far.

This is the model number on my invoice from newegg

Does Android recognize it after booting?

um... I think so (not sure what you exactly mean by "recognize")

if i drop into the dev tools terminal I can see from the mount command that its available as /sdroot.

also I can type

ls /sdroot

and I can see my files on the card

Jim2561, I've tried booting into android with and without GPS being active and did not see any difference. When I go to maps and hit "my location" it still plays the demo out in Mountainview. Am I missing something here?

Also, what is the latest radio? I have 3.42.30 on my VZ Vogue.

thanks

well there have simply beeb reports of problems with gps active; unfortunately it doesnt work right now regardless

Also, dont worry about your radio, that is certainly new enought for now. I think that the latest radio for the vogue might just be like one version up, like 3.42.50 or something.
