Question about Downloading Programs

OK... I'm back! This will be my last stupid question of the day...

I am setting up my new HTC TOUCH, and I already installed a 2Gb SD card in it. I assume that is for my photos, videos, ringtones, tunes and the like. My question is this: When downloading an application, I am always prompted about where to put the program files: on the card or on the system.
Is there a generally accepted preference? Does it matter at all?

Thanks!

Rule of thumb is that anything that is displayed on the Today screen (weather apps, tabs apps, etc.) should be installed on the device.

However, my Sprint Touch has so much memory that I have yet to find any issues with installing everything on main memory.

agreed, even after all my apps are installed, i still have around 70 megs of system storage left, and everything is extra stable. I use my card for media, like music, pics, and such, and to keep all of my cab files on, in case of a hard reset

Thank you both! I kinda figured that. Just needed to hear if others felt the same way.

Re: Question about Downloading Programs

I have been trying to find enough programs to fill the memory, but I can't do it. I don't install anything to storage card, as it frequently gets corrupted
Does anyone know how to stop wm from asking where you want it and just install to device? taking out storage card is not an option, as that is where all my cabs are
