vista service pack killed WMDC, can no longer sync

I had a problem after installing SP1 on ONE of my machines. Didn't have the problem on one other desktop nor on my laptop. Nothing directly related to the Touch or Windows Mobile Device Manager fixed it.

Turned out the only thing to fix it was uninstalling/reinstalling my AV software. I run BitDefender on my gaming rig (the problem machine) and Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 on my laptop and home office machine.

Only the BitDefender AV had a problem after installing SP1.

I too am having this issue. Kind of

I was able to sync perfectly fine with the stock ROM. However, ever since I installed a different ROM it hasnt been able to sync.

I've tried installing different ROMs and none of them want to sync for me.

I'm also running Vista on SP1.

If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it

EDIT:
I went back to Sprints Default ROM to check whether it was WMDV and it works perfectly.

I think its an issue with WMDV syncing with 6.1... but I'm not sure. I've tried syncing with different ROMs and none seem to work

sp1 makes my laptop think every storage card i put in it is a xD picture card.

If you have installed Vista SP1, then you should install the "WIndows Mobile Device Center 6.1". It is available for free download and fixed all of my Sync problems.

I just notice this was out (official auto update 4-15), searched here first, glad i did. now I know what to expect and how to fix if it doesn't work.

I have not had this problem, but my case is a bit different. I reformatted my computer with Vista SP1 integrated in the install as opposed to letting it upgrade. I then installed the WMDC and synced my phone just fine.
