Problems - Day 1 with new phones
Three brand new Sprint Touch phones arrived today.
Two lines were ported from T-Mobile - 2rd is a new line. Right off the bat I want to play with Sprint TV to test the new Evo Speed.... Nope - on all three The cab file installed and I reset the phones.....no dice. I called Sprint Tech Support - got third shift - After 90+ min and doing some "#" based resets on one of the phones....still no go. I could tell the guy was drawing a blank. He asked where I got the phones. I told him www.letstalk.com, and boy he jumped on that. I was informed I have three bad phones....the Sprint Corporae Stores "do no offer Sprint TV for the Touch phones becase there is a compatability issue with HTC" Now I have been hangin in this and a couple of other forums and I don't recall reading about that Now if somebody knows the gimmic to get Sprint TV to work I'd appreciate it. It was one of the selling points with the wife and I'm about to start sleeping on the sofa if you know what I mean |

Re: Problems - Day 1 with new phones
Sprint TV does work. I got it up and running on my father's touch last week. I can't say the same about it working on my mogul......

Re: Problems - Day 1 with new phones
I did a hard reset - did the little WM6 intro with the aligning the screen - a bunch of extra cabs were installed - soft reboot - launch Sprint TV - it needs to load a update - opens IE and downloads it automatically - I instal it onthe device side. soft reboot.
Launch Sprint TV -- - all I get is the spash screen with the yellow dots scrolling at the bottom - no error just the scrolling yellow dots |

Re: Problems - Day 1 with new phones
You may wanna try calling back in to tech support and getting someone who does their job. I use Sprint TV on my Touch all the time. I have had to swap my phone out a couple of times for other reasons, and each time I start up TV for the first time, it prompts me to do an update. It installs a new .cab and after a few minutes, it works fine. You may want to check other stuff too, like is your internet working?
Technically.....it could be the phones....but all three at once? Rare. |

Re: Problems - Day 1 with new phones
I will call at lunch hour.
I bought three Sprint Touch phones. It's happening to all three - everything else seems fine. EV internet is nice and fast. Sync's with Desktop(XP) & Laptop(Vista) with no problems. |

Re: Problems - Day 1 with new phones
I think once you do get going you'll be disappointed. It's all junk if you ask me. When I last hard reset didn't even bother.
I suspect your phones are fine something is messed up on sprint end or your account.

Re: Problems - Day 1 with new phones
If you want to have TV on your Touch, I would recommend you take a look at the Slingbox approach (www.slingmedia.com). It's not a good fit for everyone, but if you have a home setup that can accomodate it, then it's a really great solution.
For me I have no additional monthly fees and I now have full access to my Tivo for recorded programs and all the DirecTV channels I have at home. If you go full screen, you need to have a good fast steady connection, but staying in portrait mode I can watch TV for a full hour while riding the commuter train from the far suburbs to downtown Chicago and only drop maybe once and stutter-and-recover a couple other times. |
