1. The tech guy was pulling your chain.

Sprint TV works and Sprint support Sprint TV on the phone. Apparently he wanted to get you off the phone to blame someone else.

2. Are you getting any error messages when you are trying to install the Sprint TV cad? Did it install okay and when you start the application, do you get any errors?
