Re: Playing HTC Touch Video on PC
I know this is an old thread, but hopefully if you need this, you will find it.
This can drive you crazy - you record video in the HTC devices, but when you play it on the PC with something like VLC, you get no sound. This is the case with both the .3GP (H.263), .3GPP, and MPEG4 options. The trick is to convert the .3GP file using something else using Mobile Media Converter (free, works great). If it's an MP4 file, but still no audio, that's because it's really still 3GP; so you need to rename the file. DO THIS IS THE COMMAND LINE, not Windows Explorer, as it will not work (it retains the file type). Ex. "copy test.mp4 to test.3gp" Then convert with Mobile Media Converter. This is what worked for me when the file type gets goofed up. The best thing is to make sure under advanced settings (in video camera) it's using the default (which I think is H.263); this will make a .3GP file, and then you can convert it. This is what I have the best luck with. Yes, this is a pain but the only thing that seems to work reliably. Last edited by mikecism; 03-06-2009 at 01:29 PM. |
