Re: Rumor: Finally early March Verizon XV6900
There are A LOT of people who had the Mogul and switched to the Touch when it came out ~5 months later. I was one of them and couldn't be happier. Haven't encountered any major issues, nor any memory full errors.

Re: Rumor: Finally early March Verizon XV6900
I switched from a Mogul to a Touch and I don't regret it for a second.
It's FAST, and it's got a great form factor, better call quality, louder/clearer speaker, better camera, etc. I have unlimited data for $15 and I stream TV all day and surf the net, it's great! |

Re: Rumor: Finally early March Verizon XV6900
Ok, glad you like your mogul more, but honestly really what did you add to this thread? The guy didn't ask who likes the Mogul or the Touch more. He has "some" experience with the Touch and feels he likes it more. I'm not trying to be rude, but it always seems the Mogul folks are out trying to prove their phone is better? I'm sure the Touch folks do the same... Just trying to stop it. Anyways you are right, the camera's are the same. So any ones experience with a camera on one being better than the other is all the placebo effect or one camera was not set right, broken, etc.
As far as the topic at hand, How reliable are VZW reps? Only VZW rep I talked to was incompetent. I highly doubt they'll release it with rev. A & GPS, as with the XV6800 / Mogul they didn't release it with rev. A / GPS when it came out right? |

Re: Rumor: Finally early March Verizon XV6900
this guy was younger and knowledgeable, he took the time to search his INTRAnet and came up with a few files on the XV6900 and they were "locked" so he couldn't open them, so this guy was obviously telling me the truth, or so it seemed. He told me other stories about how they are the last to know like with the Voyager and basically said most releases are on monday. He searched a couple places and I talked to him for 15-20mins and he was pretty cool, that's all I can tell ya. Anyways this thread has made me feel better about switching over to the Touch, I don't mind the lack of keyboard and never use the wi-fi.

Re: Rumor: Finally early March Verizon XV6900
I switched from a Mogul to a Touch, and am quite happy with the swap. The 2 Mogul showstoppers for me were unusable BT audio and roaming freezes. The Touch has neither problem for me.
I do miss the keyboard, but am now at the point where I can function about as well with the softkeyboards (try all of them, see which you like best - I like TouchPal, but YMMV). I never used WiFi on my Apache or Mogul, so that is a non-issue to me. I did sometimes have memory issues with Mogul, never with Touch :=) I get slightly better reception on the Touch (apples-apples comparison in same office building), and battery lasts longer too. So ... for me, with the exception of still missing the hard keyboard a bit, the Touch is working out quite well. |
