HTC Home Customizer and Stock Touch Not Working

I have not flashed a new ROM or installed any other version of HTC Home. The customizer starts great but locks up when I try to save my changes. It then closes on its own and won't restart. I am using HHCv10b5.

1.) Has anyone got this to work with a stock ROM?
2.) Do I have to install another version of Home?

Did you try to uninstall and re-install? That version seems to be working fine on my Touch. I've got the stock ROM also. It's been installed for almost 2 months. Perhaps shutting down the HTC Home plug in before installing can ease the install however I didn't have that issue.

Yep. Even tried the old (.80) install and nothing seems to work.

I'd downgrade for now to version 1 at www.pocketemu.com if you haven't already tried this. There must be some other conflict there. I've not heard of this issue before. At pocketemu you could probably describe your issue or in his forum at XDA

I'm having the same problem. Here's the weird part: it was working fine with both 5 and 6 tab HTC Home plugin versions. I then installed another program that led to a hard reset ( ). I thought, no worries, i had neatly stored all my .CABs and other PPC files on my PC.

Well, I've installed and uninstalled and reinstalled and whenever I "Save Changes" it hangs and I even have to reinstall HTC Home plugin.

I *know* it's the same versions that had worked before.

Possibly related: TaskManager v2.9 hangs when trying to list processes and this was working fine pre-Hard Reset too... could it be something with accessing/affecting running programs? Why would it have worked before and not now?

A little update: it appears to have started working. Maybe the OP can try some/all of this. This is all I have done between it working and not working.

I nothing but the media player from WMP to Audio manager. Hit save, it spun and spun... waited ~5min and soft reset. I noticed it HAD actually changed the media player. Disabled HTC Home plugin (which I *had* tried before, unsuccessfully). Went back in, hit the cartoon theme, load, save, and it just worked in a blink. Maybe it was loading the theme that jiggered some settings in the reg that were having trouble before?

I finally gave up!
I loaded DCD's new ROM yesterday and Customizer works as it should. The new 6.1 ROM makes this thing sing!
