Call Tones

that link is different from what im talking about.....this is what i found...I take no credit for it....

Make sure that internet explorer is closed at this point.

Then go Start->Settings->Connections->Advanced->select networks

In the first drop down box select Call Tones.

Click Edit.

Then you go to the proxy settings tab-> click "This network connects to the Internet" and "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet." Then type in "68.28.31.33" under proxy server

Then go back to the modem tab, then hold the stylus on calltone connect until an menu pops up, and click on connect.

Then it will try to connect, and ask for a user name and a password, and a domain, leave all of these blank, and click ok.

Now leave this window open, do not click ok on the top right (atleast for me it was disconnecting every time I tried this.....)

Open up internet explorer, and type in http://vision.sprintpcs.com/ if this site does not come up correctly, *EDIT* (if it has a red bar at the top its not the right website) refresh a few times.

In the search type in call tones, and then click the call tone link that pops up, and Bingo! you gots yourself calltone access!

In theory you can bookmark this page and delete the software for this, and just use the bookmark, now I have not tried this yet..... any questions? post here! hopefully we can get a rapidshare linky for this file... soon.... credit to Wideawake from the PPC forums for this excellent solution!

Kaos - thanks to your reposting of the Wideawake fix, I got call tones working on my Mogul. You are the man. Follow this outline exactly as it is posted, and it will work. One addition to the procedure, though, is to make sure that you change the access number to your Sprint connection (#777) to something else temporarily (I changed mine to 0) before you connect via the CallTones connection. Also make sure that wifi is turned off. This prevents another connection from becoming active and taking you to the wrong vision site.

It works, 100% guaranteed. I have never had a call tone on a phone before, and it is pretty damn slick. Sprint has a ton of them to choose from.

sweet man glad it worked for you....I was going to try it as well.But to be honest.I use my phone for business slash personal...I can't have a customer call and get sexual seduction by snoop dog...lol I always wished sprint would let its users do custom call tones...So i could have like a company slogan play when calling...Or something like hello thank you for calling "business name" Someone will be with you shortly.slogan after...I think personal ones would rock.

i def. Agree with that lol I would love to be able to have custom call tones!!!

Dude, there are tons of different tones, a huge selection of music and non-music stuff...something for everyone. I too use my phone for business as well and found a whole lot of stuff that is good for both. I'll bet you can find something that suits you - I was very surprised.

HOLY SHIT YOUR RIGHT!! AFTER SEEING YOUR POST I MADE A SECOND ATTEMPT AND IT WORKED! I KEPT PLAYING WITH IT AND I NOTICED IT KEPT TRYING TO CONNECT TO THE SPRINT CONNECTION BUT I HAD TO PLAY WITH IT SO IT WOULD STAY IN THE CALL TONES CONNECTION...I THOUGHT THE WHOLE TIME WHEN IT WAS ON THE SPRINT CONNECTION THAT IT WAS THE RIGHT WEBSITE BECAUSE IT TOOK ME TO A SPRINT SITE BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CORRECT ONE......NOW WHEN I MADE SURE THE CALL TONES WAS CONNECTING WHEN I PRESSED SEARCHED IT WORKED!!!!! I HAD MY PROGRAMS THAT AUTOMATICALLY CONNECT ON MY WORK NETWORK AND THATS WHAT WAS CASUSING THIS..IT HAD TO BE ON MY ISP....THANKS!!!!!!!!AND KAOS I USE MY PHONE FOR BUSINESS SO I CUSTOMIZED THE RINGTONE ONLY FOR CERTAIN NUMBERS AND THE REST HEAS THE REGULAR ONE...THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!

Edit: I just check my account online and i don't even see them listed or any reference to a cost. Are they free?
