8 gig micro sd wont work on my htc touch HELP!!!! - Page 3

Joe - Are you referring mainly to the music from the Sprint Music Store? Because the 8 gig card works on the Touch itself, just not with the Sprint Muisc Store. I don't know why and it took me 3 calls and 3 hours to come to that conclusion. I was able to find someone to reimburse my account for all the songs I purchased and am now unable to listen to because Sprint's Music Store is a joke.

I abandonded the sprint music store month's ago when I got my 4gb SDHC card. Everything on my touch worked with the new card except the Srpint Music Store. I just however loaded OMJ's v6 rom and the music store saw my card and found my previous music. You may look for some update to either the java or groove mobile app. The ROM is very stable if you want to load it up. It may even see the 8GB SDHC cards...

Your problem may be a fake MicroSD card. Ebay is known for selling fake and crappy flash memory. I have heard of countless people getting fake SD cards, Memory Sticks, etc from ebay. They look just like the real thing but is nothing more than crap. Just something to consider.

Yeah I have to agree with algtz1. I have been using my 8 gig card all day with no problems. I only have about 6 gigs on so far but my touch reads the card as having the full 7780 something MBs. I have been burned by Ebay myself and have subsequently stopped buying cards from there.

I have a sandisk microSD 8gb and works fine, got mine on ebay for $47

Will a 16gb card work with the touch? SDHC standard should be up to 32 right?

Far as I know, 8 gigs is currently the max available for microSDHC cards on the market. SanDisk has announced they'll release a 12 gigger sometime like mid 2008. The only 16 gig and 32 gig cards available at this time are not microSD, but regular full size SDHC, compact flash, etc. Since our Touch phones have the "SD 2.0 compatible" specification, this means they can support microSD (non HC) up to 2GB as well as microSDHC from 4GB through 32GB.

thanks yeah it was on sprint music store won't work !!!!!but wanna format it fat 32 but can't sync my pc is a mac so I'll have to get my friend to do it for me does anyone have a mp3 player so I don't have to go into Java to play my stuff thanks for the links everybody
