Thumbs down What to do about a Dead Pixel?

Hey Gang,
I got my Touch back in December 07.
I noticed a week ago I have a dead pixel in the middle/right of the display.
It was new & perfect when I got it online. I didn't get any insurance though.
I would like to exchange this one at a Sprint store for a new one.
Any tips on how to successfully exchange this unit for another one?

Either do a warranty replacement, or live with it.

lol...

I also have a dead pixel. Only see it when I'm using the camera. Otherwise, it doesn't bother (yet.)

Mine had one near the bottom after I bought it in November, took it back a few weeks later and got a replacement.

yeah.... only I can see it. That's because I am obsessed with it! I notice everything cool/not-cool about it (^_^).
I can really see it on a white page. Like email or something.
I suppose I'll try to exchange it. I will never know until i try!
After the "ordeal", I'll post my results.

If you get someone nice at the store they might just help you. Otherwise warranty is the only other option.

In some cases, you can "massage" the dead pixel out. I've read this in laptop magazines about screens that have a dead pixel. I'm not sure how this will work out with the touch screen, but it's better than nothing.

look around for a mobile dead pixel app.
what it does is just flash random colors fast to bring the pixel back.. but i dont know how reliable the technique is on mobile phones.
