This is the version that works!! Click Here!!!

Do not download any other version that what is on the page linked to above. That version is the version that works with the new ROMs.

By Popular Demand......
Step By Step Instructions:

1) Download MacFlo.zip, MacFloSupernova.zip, MacFloBigButton.zip, or MacFloBBSupernova.zip, depending on which style you want.

2) Decompress the ZIP file on your computer. There should be a CAB file inside the ZIP.

3) Move the CAB file over to your phone (doesn't matter where) using ActiveSync or some other way.

4) Go to the CAB file on your phone using the phone's File Explorer

5) Tap on the CAB to run it, and follo the directions.

6) After a soft reset your Cube should be replaced by the MacFlo Cube you selected.

Thank you for all of your name submissions and comments. I would have loved to use all of them, but one stood out from the rest, describing exactly my vision for this customization. Congratulations chulo_allen of xda-developers.

Improvements Over MacFlo Maker 1
  • Graphic Interface For Choosing Built-In Icons
  • Ability to change App Launcher Buttons into QuickDial Buttons!
  • Backwards Compatability with MacFlo

Sorry it's been so long, but I've been quite busy! Big Button addresses the main flaws with the original MacFlo: small buttons and slow animations. Button size has been inceased by 40%, and animation speed has been increased by over 50%. Hope you all enjoy it!

Please let me know if there's anything that needs fixing.

Edit: Just fyi the bottom right button on each Slab opens MacFlo Maker. These can be easily configured using MacFlo Maker to open a different program, or call a contact.

Before Installing, Uninstall Any Other Cube Skins You May Have Installed, Including MacFlo!

Also, MacFloBigButton.cab and MacFloBBSupernova.cab are TWO DIFFERENT SKINS! Install one or the other, not both!

My eyes may be decieving me...

But is this utilizing the Minimal Cubes theory of having a flat background that is unchanged and the icons move over it?

Yes and no. The icons are 50x50 squares with the icon on a black background, so changing icons will not affect the background or animations. What is in the teaser image is the "up" animation, the right/left animation, and the down animation. At each pause the icons will appear.

And really, the Minimal Cube had blank animations. The icons and background would appear as each side loaded.

Cutta-Boi 02-08-2008 05:25 PM

I know I'm extra late, and I only browsed the iCube thread. But I remember seeing someone mentioning that this may work for the mogul if you install FtouchFlo. Am I wrong? If not, can we (Mogul users) apply this same method for this new UI? If we can't I am totally envious! Great work sir!

Musicman247 02-08-2008 05:55 PM

Cutta-Boi,

I think you are correct. But you need to make sure that the version of FtouchFlo is based on the Vogue's Biotouch programs. I think the latest version is, but I could be mistaken.

You might want to look here if you haven't already: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=11954

OK... I'm in on thread so I will get email updates.

jayresc 02-08-2008 09:46 PM

I can't wait to get my hands on this.

Musicman247 02-09-2008 12:08 AM

Okay, I've been talking with my wife and she says that i shouldn't call this the Mac Cube because
A) It's not a cube
B) It really looks like the Time Machine feature of Leopard, not really a Mac

So, I want to hear some suggestions on naming this thing. I've affectionately been calling the moving icon groups "Slabs", but that doesn't sound very cool.

So, what have you got, PPCGeeks? I'm giving you a chance to name this thing. Give me your best shot!

I'll be releasing this on Monday, so you have until Sunday to give me a suggestion. I (and my wife) will pick the one that we like best.

This looks amazing and I can't wait for monday. the interface seems more intuitive than the cube...reminds me of 2001 A Space Odessy for some reason. I say call it HAL.

houseman 02-09-2008 03:11 AM

The Mac Slider, Mac Shuffler. Since you wanted Mac I used it.

TRUELIGHT 02-09-2008 07:19 AM
