You can usually place the ring tones in either \Windows\Rings or \My Documents\My Ringtones. However, if you want to use an MP3 as a ringer for SMS or e-mail, you'll need to place the file in the \Windows directory. Then, just go to Start - Settings - Sounds & Notification and change it from there.

I used a full length MP3 or WMA, can't remember now. You need to truncate the file to only 10 seconds or so, otherwise if you get a text message, it will play the entire song.
My wife had to listen to Paul Revere until I could go in and change it ![]()

Been where exactly? What type of file are you trying to use? Where have you placed it? Have you soft reset after placing it and checked again? |

Have you tried what I've been saying for a while now? Place the MP3 files in the \Windows directory, soft reset, and this should make them available to use with SMS, e-mail and voicemail.
