Exclamation Alltel Touch - Bugs, complaints, etc.

Please use this thread to post your issues.

---------------------------------------------------------------
Biggest bug Ive seen thus far:

The HTC dial screen is displayed after:
1) A soft reset. Its displayed for 5 to 10 seconds, then disappears
2) Installation of a CAB. Constantly displayed until you close.
3) Shutdown of an application. Constantly displayed until you close.

Items 2 and 3 occur very frequently.. but not every time.

My Touch running Alltel's ROM consistently fails to wake up for incoming phone calls and texts. I've only had this issue once with the Sprint ROM and I've had it four times with the Alltel today, including two after I did a soft reset. I'm going back to Sprint's ROM.

I am so on the fence on this one. I do want one, but I don't want to leave the security of having my PPC 6700. It's finally the way that I like it now. But the size of the Touch and hopefully the ear piece volume are what draws me to it.

Just an update on the bug I reported on the first post of this thread:

I performed a hard reset last Sunday, and after only setting up my email accounts, I am now still encountering the HTC dialer pop-up. Does anyone have this problem? Im wondering if this dialer can be replaced with the original WM6 dialer to stop the problem???

The volume is quite a bit better than my apache. The only thing that takes some getting use to is the keyboard. So far I haven't had any issues with mine.

Much better for phones calls than the 6800, at least in my opinion. I find it more comfortable to hold and big difference in volume for me, could be due to the design.

I've only seen on minor glitch, when you wake up the phone the time is incorrect but it immediately adjusts to the correct time.

After 8 days I had the fail to wake up out of sleep mode to notify of a call bug. I tried to disable quick menu as suggested, but no luck. I uninstalled the last cab, which was touchpal, although I really don't think touchpal was the problem, when it was removed, it restarted the phone, and all was well again. I am pretty sure just restarting the phone corrected the problem. I am now in the habit of either turning the phone off while I charge it at night, or if I need it on, just restarting it when I get up in the morning. I have not had it happen again since I have been doing this.
