Mine worked fine throughout November while I had the $25/mo Premium Power Vision Pack. In December a couple things changed, I switched to $15/mo Basic Access Vision Pack and traveled for the holidays to Houston, where and when this exact same Ev-1X trouble began and hasn't quit since. Though Houston doesn't yet have Rev.A, the Ev would show but not work. Back home now in South Florida, where Ev worked fine before, I'm only able to connect via 1X, and must end Internet connectivity when Ev shows (to speed up the wait for 1X to kick in).

One of the things I stumbled upon while trying to figure out a fix is...
Initiate custom NAI entry to device (Client-Initiated IOTA)
This is followed by a "Start" button, which I'm too chicken to tap. One way to get there is:
Start > Settings > Personal (default tab) > Phone > Services (tab) > Internet > Get Settings

Anybody tried this, or know what it's all about? More importantly, any fix info for Ev-1X problem is muchly appreciated.

it is likely in need of provisioning... if that doesnt do it, surely the data, restore would... try those two, if that doesnt do it... i have no idea what would...

I've had my Touch (Vogue) for a bit over a week and the EVDO has never worked. I finally called into Sprint CS after reading this thread and dealt with their Tech guys. After 1.5 hours and 4 techs, a supervisor from Tier III tech support (their highest, that I am aware of) informed me that my phone is defective, they cannot fix it, and I should take it to a Sprint store for a immediate replacement. We tried several tweaks in the ##DATA# menu, reprovisioning, soft and hard resets, and they attempted several things on the network side to get it to take. No dice. So I guess I will go grab a new Touch tomorrow. Good thing I haven't spent a ton of time customizing stuff...

Anyhow, just thought you all might like to know.

Just wanna say "Thanks" to ycat, pjrey, & Lord Bricks for the info in this thread. Finally, Internet at Sprint speed! It required a server side change to my account permissions, a little over an hour on phone calls, and 4 tech support people. My guess is that they had blocked my Ev-DO permission when I dumped the $25/mo pack for the $15.

my second line on my account started having issues and this time i simply logged onto my sprint account, went to settings and passwords, changed my vision user name, turned off my phone for at least 5 minutes and when i turned it on it initiated data provisioning on its own and all is well. second line is a touch also.

mine connects EV, even shows that on the top of the screen..............but my issue is when I want to go online, I have to wait until it switches to 1X.......when in EV mode, it should go right to the internet when I choose.
