Mine only gets hot when actively using it.
Not sure but I think I've heard that while roaming your phone is using extra power looking for home network, but like I said that's just something I remember reading and may be completely false. If I were you I would go into the start settings phone and set it to roam only when I was at work in roaming areas and see if it makes any difference at all. |

My phone only heats up when I use its data connection to download large files (70+ MB). Other than that, I've never experienced it generating heat.

try closing out every running program... plus it also depends on what programs you've all got running and how many of these programs that also have it's toll on battery life.
